Constantly resetting network settings

I have to constantly reset my network settings to get any group texts and sometimes any texts from non iMessage phones. I got a new SIM card because my mobile provider said that would fix it. It did not. I’ve tried changing all sorts of settings in messages, but they only thing that works is resetting network settings. This has caused a lot of issues like me waiting in the park for my friends who decided to go to a different park in a group text I didn’t get. Or a work group text telling us our manager had a stroke. Not receiving reminder texts about appointments. How do I know to reset if I don’t know I have incoming messages?!? Any advice? This seems like a constant issue with iPhones from reading online and for how much we pay for these things this should not happen.

iPhone 8, iOS 15

Any text messages from a non-iOS device and group texts that include any non-iOS devices is an SMS/MMS. Those are controlled by your carrier, and if you are having experiences of not receiving those, you need to contact your carrier. They control those texts and it requires that you have an SMS/MMS plan on your account. Since resetting the network settings seems to temporarily correct your issue, it makes me believe there is a problem with that on their end. They may need to reset your SMS/MMS plan. When you speak with your carrier, ask for their second tier support personnel.

Two possibilities here, first and most likely is your iPhone is not provisioned correctly by your cell service provider, call their tech support and have them re-provision your iPhone. Second is a possible hardware issue, if your iPhone has ever been dropped the antenna may be damaged or there is a chipset with a loose connection. Click on the Get Support link at the top right of this page to start the service process.
