My photo app disappeared from me desk top tool bar. How can I get it back?

The folder with the stylized "A" next to your downloads folder.

Assuming your mean the dock, launch Photos from the app folder, and click and hold on the icon that shows up in the dock, you will be given the option to "Keep in Dock".
