how to pair apple remote with apple tv
I have tried the steps listed on the help, but I get to the Analytics page and then a message will pop up to hold remote closer to tv to pair, even though it is as close as possible.
Are you dead positive it is an Apple TV 1st generation, the model number will be printed on the back or bottom of it. Below is a screen shot of 1st generation ATV.
