Mac Music app equalizer not working when connected to bluetooth headphones

When I connect my bluetooth headphones, the equalizer no longer works. I've tried everything including resetting and pairing them but nothing works. I've tried restarting my macbook air, still won't work. When I mean the equalizer, I mean the one for each track that you can set it too. Not only that, but it ignores the settings for when you can start/stop a certain time for each song too (Both equalizer and setting the start/stop time are done in the options tab when you go the song's info). Also, when the bluetooth headphones connect it'll show an icon next to the lyrics/history icons. If that icon is grey, then the equalizer and everything will work. However if its green, the equalizer and everything won't work. Hope this all makes sense!

What can I do? I've tried everything. This version of Apple Music is 1.2.3.56. OS is Monterrey version 12.3.
