Horrible battery life after updating to watch 8.5

Ever since updating to watch 8.5 my battery life has been awful on my series 7 Apple Watch. 12 hours of usage and I’m at 19%. This is with no workouts and not using cellular. Prior to updating to 8.5 I would be at least 50% at 12 hours of usage. I’ve unpaired my watch and paired it back and that didn’t help. My only other option is to set up as a new watch. Hopefully apple issues a fix soon.

If the battery drains too fast after an update, see all the replies to:

FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. (Simply unpairing and pairing again may not work.)

Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.
