2015 macbook pro 15' retina overheating %500 cpu "Thermal Throttling" FIXED!!

my old 2015 model constantly overheated to the point of being unusable with CPU running at up to %600 (only with a monitor connected).. UNTIL NOW!

For anyone who has lived through thermal throttling of this kind, i swear, the answer is thermal paste! it's like a new machine. It's a cheap and easy DIY too!

I had to share the result because there's many suggestions out there and I've wasted weeks trying software fixes, I also spoke with Apple many times both in and out of warranty and they never were able to fix it, let alone acknowledge the issue.

I used the video in the link below,

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13

I agree with you Mike! I have the same machine running Windows bootcamp which kept freezing and ramdomly crashing. After googling and finding that others had suffered this and it was caused by overheating, I carried out replacement of the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU chips. I followed a YouTube video and found that it wasn't too hard at all. Since doing this the laptop works so much better in many respects. The battery lasts much longer, the fans hardly run at all, whereas they were running half the time before, and I notice that Photoshop runs much faster now. I thoroughly recommend others who have this machine should carry this out. You just need a couple of special screwdrivers and the paste from Amazon about £15 the lot.
