We have parental control on my daughters iphone SE, she is 11 yrs. Automatic background upd is turned on and app store auto upd is turned on (grey though and not possible to adjust). Apps will NOT auto udate! We have to manually upd each and everyone. Is this due to iphone SE or can there be another answer, like different operators?

As a test, have you tried to remove the Parental Controls on updates to see if the updates will work automatically?
