how to create icloud email as mail section under icloud is not there in my iphone /apple id

Many such articles are out of date. (2020)

If you have an Apple account and you are signed into it on your phone you do not need to add anything. You just turn it on.

With iOS 15.4 its

Settings, your name, iCloud, iCloud mail then turn it on

With ios 15.3 and earlier you turn it on in Settings, your name, iCloud

If you have iCloud+ you can add custom domains but that is another subject.

Either post again in "Icloud on my ios device" forum stating that you set up your iCloud account using your phone number not an email address,

You don’t have an iCloud email address because you don’t have an iCloud account with email.

This Apple ID looks and works like an Apple ID referencing a third-party email address; like an Apple ID with no iCloud email.

To get where you want, you’ll need to create a primary address: Create a primary email address for iCloud Mail - Apple Support

From there, you should be able to configure and use iCloud email.

Problem is that OP has already tried:-

1. On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
2. Turn on iCloud Mail (or Mail), then follow the onscreen instructions to create an iCloud Mail address.

but they can't turn it on ;see graphic)

I think the choice of number maybe precludes use of iCloud mail.

I've put out a request for help from other helpers.

If you go to Settings and tap the user name at the top what shows on the arrowed second line? Just a phone number? or an email address?



If the user has already created a primary address, and maybe restarted after that, and still cannot then use iCloud mail, contact Apple Support.
