Dual 4k monitors on mac pro 2021 (M1 CPU)

I have dual 4K Samsung U32R59 models

I have a Hyperdrive VIPER 10-in-2 USB-C Hub with 2 x HDMI adapters

My main screen is nice and bright as I expect

The second screen is much dimmer - like yellowish instead of white and all colours dimmer

Tried all adjustments on screen, swapped screens and cables

But the one you setup as the second screen is dimmer

Both however is full 4K

Any ideas of how to resolve

To fully support TWO hardware-accelerated displays on one cable to your Mac, the first device (Display or Dock) MUST be a genuine ThunderBolt device and connect with a genuine ThunderBolt cable.

The Mac does not fully support two hardware-accelerated displays on a USB Dock, unless it connects with TWO USB cables.

¿WHAT model MacBook Pro, exactly?

Hi BobTheFisherman

Nope what i see on youtube and read on google is it supports 1 x 8k or 2 x 4k external monitors

I do have a USBC hub that gives more ports - including 2 x HDMI

The monitors all work and i can setup to mirror or be external on either and i can display different views on Mac screen two 4K displays

iI did read a couple of posts on various groups that the second 4K screen is dimmer

But on the Mac onboard HDMI port all is fine

So regardless of which port you use, the second 4K display is dimmer

I am waiting for the new Docking Station Caldigit TS4

From what i saw on youtube itbis all ok with dual 4K displays

Grant

It is a new Macbook Pro 16”, 2021 model

Only got it two weeks ago

The Dock I have is a Hyperdrive VIPER 10-in-2 USB-C Hub

It does use a double USBC plug into the Mac

Spec on their Website is as follow

Ports

2 x HDMI 4K60Hz

3 x USB-A 5Gbps

Gigabit Ethernet

SD UHS-I 104MB/s

MicroSD UHS-I 104MB/s

USB-C PD (Power Delivery) 60W

3.5mm Audio Jack

I think the issue is maybe the USB-A 5gb is the problem

Definately the Caldigit TS4 evaluations does not point this as an issue

Same Mac Pro and same 4K screens but different USB ports - they are Thunderbolt 4 ports

Actually I read the spec wrong

I really have no reason to say that is the problem

The ports I referred to was the ones on the dock, and that has no effect on the HDMI ports

For a moment I though that was the ports on the Mac

So I really have no idea what the cause of this dimming of second screen is

Still think the Caldigit TS4 will be my solution

Just wasted 229$
