Hi,
yesterday I took my MacBook Pro 2020 i5 intel to the repair shop as it was stuck in a reboot loop. After contacting the shop I was informed that they were trying to access DFU mode via another MacBook but they are struggling because of increased security measures by Apple on the Monterey OS. Has anybody else experienced this problem?

That repair shop should be either an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Center. Anything else is shooting craps with regard to the diagnosis, quality, and type of repair performed.

I agree & it was, they managed to do the DFU but I lost all my data which is a sacrifice I was willing to make. It cost me £100 which isn’t too bad. I just hope it doesn’t do it again!

You are welcome. Having a last Time Machine backup prior to any service visit is crucial to avoid potentially lost data. That likely was a priori knowledge for you.
Yes, unfortunately I failed to back my data. I won’t make that mistake again!
