Flashing Apple Watch symbol

7000 series Apple Watch , it won't power on. When it's on the charger, the apple logo flashes, if we try to do a hard reset, a red exclamation mark pops up and gives a web site address apple.com/watch/help. I'm thinking the update did this.unpaired the watch from his phone and has erased it from Find My iPhone, so none of those tricks will work if the update went sour before it finished. It's a Series 1, will Apple still support it if I take it to an Apple Store?
