iMac 24" display

I'm looking to purchase an iMac 24" with a 4.5K Retina display.

My son has a Lenovo Thinkpad and I wondered if he could attach that so he could use the iMac as a larger screen display?

+1 No, please refer to Target Display Mode (Target Display Mode).

Macs are computers, they are not external displays for other devices.
