Can’t connect to Mac Studio from MacBook Pro over local wi-fi network

I can’t connect to my desktop Mac Studio from my MacBook Pro laptop while at home and on the same wi-fi network. This occurred after I used migration assistant to copy all my data from my old iMac Pro to the new Mac Studio. I never had any problem connecting to the iMac Pro. I can connect to my laptop from the Studio, but not the reverse. I am using macOS 12.3.1 on both computers.

I followed the suggestions on the Apple Support page:

- the Finder preferences have “Connected servers” checked in the General and Sidebar settings.

- The network status settings in System Preferences are “green” for both Ethernet and Wi-Fi

- The Studio is clearly on the network since it can see the other computers in the house, plus it has internet access.

I’ve never had any problems connection to any other Macs over my local network.

I should clarify that the Studio simply does not appear on the network, even when I use "browse."

Any suggestions?

Fairly simple solution to the issue... I found that the "Screen Sharing" box was not selected in the "Sharing" panel of System Preferences.

For some reason, this setting got switched off during the data migration from my old computer. I had turned this setting on years ago and forgot it was needed. Possibly it gets switched off when migrating to a new computer as a safety measure (?), but seems more like a bug in Migration Assistant to me.
