Mac Studio Stuck in Shanghai

I ordered a M1 Max Mac Studio on march 10 and it shipped earlier this week on the 29th. By the next day (30th) it had arrived in Shanghai and was on track to be delivered to me on the 1st of April. However, on the 1st my UPS delivery estimate was updated to "The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible." with tracking for my device showing that the package was last scanned when it arrived in Shanghai on the 30th.

I'm assuming this has something to do with customs, covid, labour shortages etc... Has anyone else experienced something similar with their Mac Studio delivery? Is this simply an unpleasant delay that will pass? Is it possible my device is misplaced or lost?

Same thing is happening in Japan.

Late last month there was a lockdown in Shenzhen, which caused a change to via Shanghai for a time, but the lockdown occurred in Shanghai and is still ongoing.

Many air cargo flights have been canceled, and when they are canceled, you have to go back to the end of the queue for flight reservations and rebook your flight.

For this reason, the baggage acceptance has been stopped in Shanghai for a long time.

In Japan, there have been reports of flight reservations being cancelled, then rebooked, only to be cancelled again.

my Mac Studio has also been stuck in Shanghai since April 3rd (it was shipped on March 31st).

Except that I live in Italy and the Mac does not only travel with UPS, but must arrive in Eindhoven (Netherlands) to then be traceable with DHL and finally arrive.

I have contacted Apple Support 3 times in the last 10 days, and the only thing they can tell me is that Apple is trying to do their best to unlock it (they are the ones who told me about the lock in Shanghai) ...

The Mac was supposed to arrive on April 12th.

Same here. My Mac Studio came through fine via Shanghai > Anchorage > Seattle. Arrived April 6, 2022. Studio Display in limbo...keeps saying the order is be processed. No sign it's ready to ship. It must be because Covid has shut down Shanghai. Strict lockdown. And it's a major port for China. So my guess is no one knows when things will ship out. Wish Apple would tell us the situation.

I just barely got mine through the system at the start of the Shanghai lockdown. Mine was routed through S Korea, maybe because S Korea was considered a friendly country?

There is nothing we can do except to wait, I'm sure UPS and DHL are working as hard as they can to clear the backlog.

News is saying Shanghai is going back to normal slowly, they are going to let logistic companies to go back to work fast, because they've created a such massive disruption to the supply chain. I hope this is true.

My MacBook Pro 16 was stuck in Shanghai for 13 days before it started moving. And back in December when that happened the city was not locked down for Covid.

My Mac Studio says on the box it came with that it was manufactured in Malaysia yet it shipped form Shenzhen and no tracking data was available for 4 days until UPS updated to show it had left Shanghai. Still trying to figure that one out.
