Mac Studio Stuck in Shanghai

I ordered a M1 Max Mac Studio on march 10 and it shipped earlier this week on the 29th. By the next day (30th) it had arrived in Shanghai and was on track to be delivered to me on the 1st of April. However, on the 1st my UPS delivery estimate was updated to "The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible." with tracking for my device showing that the package was last scanned when it arrived in Shanghai on the 30th.

I'm assuming this has something to do with customs, covid, labour shortages etc... Has anyone else experienced something similar with their Mac Studio delivery? Is this simply an unpleasant delay that will pass? Is it possible my device is misplaced or lost?

I know.

vut I also hope that Apple will arrange a solution because Thera are a lot of airports that still work. A different route maybe could help. And all the Mac studio that are in Shanghai can be shipped back to the factory once china removes the lockdown.

in Italy when we had the first strike of Covid in march 2020, we maintained all the primary services up. Included shipping company and food delivery. It’s not an unsolvable problem.

Same thing is happening in Japan.

Late last month there was a lockdown in Shenzhen, which caused a change to via Shanghai for a time, but the lockdown occurred in Shanghai and is still ongoing.

Many air cargo flights have been canceled, and when they are canceled, you have to go back to the end of the queue for flight reservations and rebook your flight.

For this reason, the baggage acceptance has been stopped in Shanghai for a long time.

In Japan, there have been reports of flight reservations being cancelled, then rebooked, only to be cancelled again.

I just barely got mine through the system at the start of the Shanghai lockdown. Mine was routed through S Korea, maybe because S Korea was considered a friendly country?

There is nothing we can do except to wait, I'm sure UPS and DHL are working as hard as they can to clear the backlog.

News is saying Shanghai is going back to normal slowly, they are going to let logistic companies to go back to work fast, because they've created a such massive disruption to the supply chain. I hope this is true.
