Use 10gb Ethernet for NAS and wifi for everything else?

Hi Community. I have a Mac Studio on its way to use for FCP editing. Question - can I connect a NAS directly to the 10gb ethernet port on the Mac Studio for file storage use but still use wifi for everything else such as internet connection, HomeKit, cameras, Apple TVs etc.

I don't have a 10gb switch and don't plan on changing routers anytime soon as I have 3 Sinology RT2600ac units (1gb ethernet) across my farm buildings providing 5ghz wifi across the small farm. But I would like a NAS to store my Final Cut libraries on and be able to edit directly from my NAS, or atleast have fast access to move projects between the NAS and the Mac Studio SSD

What do you think?

Also: you probably can achieve what you want by prioritizing Wifi in System Preferences->Network.

When there is more than one network service available, like Ethernet and Wifi, the one highest on the list takes priority. As long as the NAS has only Ethernet and you set Wifi to be the top choice, it should work. Disclaimer: I have no NAS and I have not tried this.

Also, the other option you mentioned is probably best, if your productions are small enough to fit: edit using the extra fast internal drive and when done copy it off to make room for the next one.
