iPad Air 2 Touch ID fails immediately

Hi all,


I have recently just got an iPad Air 2, the device is in really good condition for its age.


However, the Touch ID doesn't appear to work. When selecting the option in the settings, it pops a message up saying that it's failed.


Is there any way to resolve this? As far as I know the sensor has not be replaced at anytime (still clicks fine without any miss clicks or crunching).
