iPad air2 future

Hi

still using my 64gb iPad Air 2. It took on a new lease of life with ios15, and I absolutely love it, so much so that after 7+ years I’m not ready to move on to a newer version. How long does Apple think that they will be able to support this device with future operating systems?

Nodoby here (just user like you) can give you an appropriate answer, since we're not aware of Apple future plans/decisions.

That said, knowing that generally Apple release their major updates (iPadOS16) during the autumn period, you can wait and see if that 8 years old iPad hardware can still be supported.

Shouldn't be this case, you'll be still able to use your iPad, being aware of that limit, or decide to buy a new(er) device. Unfortunately, in electronics, "8 years" is an "eternity".
