Airplay not working if homepod is linked to AppleTV

I have problems when I try to show my pictures or videos in AppleTv using Airplay and a pair of Homepods are linked to the AppleTV. When I say linked I mean using the Homepod as audio output in my AppleTV. If I change audio output to TV speakers then Airplay works fine.

I have another AppleTV in a different room and Airplay works fine. I tried updating all the devices and also restarting them. Tried with different Iphones (X and 13)

AppleTV model A1842 (32GB) TvOS 15.4.1 (latest)

Apple TV 4K, tvOS 15

That seems to be the way it works. Setting default speakers blocks interferes with some other uses. Use Feedback - HomePod - Apple if you want to suggest changes to behaviour.
