iPhone doesn’t charge in car or hook up to CarPlay.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max that will not hook up to CarPlay or charge in my vehicle. It charges in my normal house charger just fine. I have tried different cords that work just fine with my husbands iPhone 12 Pro Max. His phone charges and hooks up to CarPlay just fine.

I have a 2019 VW Jetta in which I would use CarPlay to charge my phone and for apple music/navigation. Now when I connect my phone in the car, it no longer charges the phone. So no apple music or navigation. I tried using my daughters phone with the lightning cable in the car and it charges her phone. iPhone 12 Pro and battery while using CarPlay I'm considering upgrading my XS to a 12 Pro but the guy at the Verizon store told me the 12 Pro wouldn't charge while using Carplay on the Lightning to USB cable for my two cars (2018 Kia Niro, 2020 Kia Sportage). My XS doesn't charge as fast in the car as it does on my wireless charger (and I don't expect it to)while using Carplay with Waze and Apple Music. Anyone got any real world results for how much a 12 charges while connected to CarPlay plugging into a USB not USB-C port? If it's not charging or worse slowly draining while using wired carplay, then the phone is a non-starter for me and I'll stick with the XS. Thanks!

I can’t connect my iphone 14 to my Apple car play. It says my phone is connected but says the usb isn’t connected. Please help I can’t connect to Apple CarPlay with my car charger. I just had a new usb port put in. Do I need a different charger?
