iphone 13 promax not ringing or showing missed calls for some callers

I have had my phone for several weeks now, but have recently run into an issue where my phone doesn't ring or show missed calls although the caller is able to leave a voicemail. This seems to be intermittent or based on the number, because I am receiving calls from my contacts and even other unknown callers, but certain numbers will not ring or appear as missed although many voicemails are left behind as evidence that the person has called.
