Monterey keyboard shortcuts

I made a keyboard shortcut to send active windows between my (11" Air) laptop's screen and my (non-mirrored) external monitor. I used control+option+command+UParrow for one direction and DOWNarrow for the other direction. They worked OK under Catalina but now often do not work under Monterey. For clarity, those two macros trigger the command in the Window menu to move an active window to the other monitor.

What could be causing this and is there a solution? I'd have thought that if there was a key-combo conflict the Mac would have notified me. Please help. Thx!

Hello,

This is just a guess so I am sorry if its not helpful. I don't remember when macOS started using the Spaces feature or Mission Control but they may be in play.

Work in multiple spaces on Mac - Apple Support

"Move an app window from one space to another

On your Mac, do any of the following:

  • Drag the app window you want to move to the edge of the screen. After a moment, the window moves to the next space.
  • Go to the space that has the window you want to move, enter Mission Control, then drag the window up to the space you want to use.
  • If you drag the window onto a full screen app in the Spaces bar, you can use the apps in Split View."

Change Mission Control preferences on Mac - Apple Support

"Choose shortcuts for showing and hiding Mission Control, open windows for the current app, and the desktop. Depending on your mouse or trackpad, two columns of pop-up menus may be shown in this section.

To display additional available keyboard shortcuts, press and hold the Control, Option, Shift, or Command key, or a combination of these keys, while viewing the pop-up menus."

I hope this helps.
