When I look at my yahoo mail on my Mac, it says I have exactly 10,000 messages in my inbox. When I log directly into yahoo, it says I have 120,000 messages in my inbox. For some reason all of the yahoo emails are not showing up on my Mac. I have tried deleting my Yahoo! Mail and then adding it back again, but nothing changes. I would appreciate any suggestions.

On my Mac are local files if you move the mail off the IMAP server...
For problem accounts, remove the account then add it back in again

• IMAP accounts stay on the server, so no local loss, when you re-sync
• POP accounts download and remove from the server—therefor save your inbox/sent box if you want them
• "On My Mac" is just that, local folders you created and moved mail into. So no loss

Go to Yahoo on the web and archive the emails and then they will stop downloading to Apple mail.
