updating to iOS 15 broke my camera

Face ID and camera focus doesn't work after upgraded iPhone XS to 15.3.x. After trying resetting all setting and multiple reboot, contacted apple support. Online support had no clue.

When I went to local apple store. They ran diagnostic and said the upgrade has defected camera hardware. And they are quoting me a full $549 to fix this thing. Is that an Apple Sc*m! OR is there really a solution.

AppleCare:

Do you have AppleCare with this?:

If you have no coverage, then it is nothing of a scam. Apple took it in, and looked at it, deeming it a non-faulty device. This would be their call --not yours.

Verifying a Covered iPhone:

About these Forums:

Did you check your coverage? There are user-to-user forums. No one here has any call ultimate your coverage. You are not speaking with Apple here. So, if you want to take this further, then take this up with Apple Support once one. Ask to speak with a senior support specialist.

Apple Contact Info:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there, as necessary
  • Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)
