MacBook Air 2017 Monterey upgrade Battery Drain

Hi,

I have a MacBook Air 2017. I am a person who installs the upgrades as soon as they are released, because I believe it is safer.

But this time, I started having a big trouble after upgrading to Monterey with my battery. I can tell that it drains my battery significantly faster both in using and sleeping mode. It's like I close the screen at night around %100, and in the morning it's like %85.

I am still continuing to upgrade and currently using 12.3.1, but thinking of downgrading.

Does anyone here can explain or help me with this?

Thank you.

Hello farukcam,

It is important to keep your Mac up-to-date, but equally important for your battery to work as expected. To help isolate this issue and determine if changing to a previous macOS version is right for you, we recommend following the guidance listed in this user guide: If your Mac battery runs out of charge quickly

If you do want to change macOS versions at any time, you can find steps here: How to reinstall macOS
