Slow Internet with Apple Pro Display XDR screen

My Internet connection is wired. On my MacBook Pro 16 inch with M1 I have an Apple Pro Display XDR. If I connect de internet cable with my XDR screen, I have an internet speed of 300 - 350 Mbps. If I connect the internet cable with the MacBook Pro I have 900 - 950 Mbps. So it seems the XDR screen causes a great delay.

If I use Wifi on my MacBook Pro and iPhone I have also about 750 - 850 Mbps.

Problem is I need to connect the internet cable with the screen. I need the ports on the MacBook Pro for other purposes and I need sufficient internet speed. (Still not enough ports on MacBook Pro).

The two connections are not comparable - one is dedicated while the other shares Thunderbolt bandwidth with the display. Use WiFi instead.

Your old Apple screen didn’t have the problem because it also didn’t have the resolution of the Pro Display.

Shrug it off! My WiFi delivers 1300 Mbps, considerably faster than both Ethernet and also most ISP speeds. Yours could too….it may well turn out to be a better solution. All the best.

OK, that is a solution, but I use wired for safety reasons. My old 27 inch Apple screen didn't have that problem. For now I will use wifi, but not happy with it. Thanks for your explanation.
