Wrong date and time on my Mac

Switched my Mac on today and showing wrong date and time but won’t let me change it but is connected ok to Wi-Fi

Unlock the padlock and make some changes...

ref: If the date or time is wrong on your Mac


from Terminal you can re-sync the time server if necessary, copy and paste:

sudo sntp -sS time.apple.com

To trouble shoot further you can:

Takes a bit longer to get to the login screen, does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test.



Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS
