My iphone 12 will not turn off, & I can’t open any apps, not even settings. It won’t let me use buttons on the side to force a shutdown either. I can still swipe from screen to screen, just can’t open anything...

please help

iPhone 12, iOS 15

If you can open Settings>General... tap the last option at the very bottom (Shut down).

If you cant, the only option is to retry a forced restart of your 12, using these instructions:--> Force restart iPhone – Apple Support, bearing in mind that you need to press and keep holding (it might take 10-20 seconds) the "power" button until the Apple Logo appears (ignore all other messages/screens that might appear).
