Crackling sound on every AirPods on MacBook pro

I have a late 2019 intel 13inch MacBook pro (Currently running MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 Latest).

I purchased AirPods pro in Nov 2021 and noticed that I could hear a millisecond sound break/ crackled sound every 3-5 seconds whenever I’m playing any media on the web browser(Chrome, Safari) since day one of use. At that time I had macOS big Sur on my MacBook. I thought of it as a software issue as the AirPods were working fine when used with iPhone or even Android devices.

Fast forward to April 2022, after a complete macOS version update(Big Sur to Monterey) and even several updates into that version as well later, the problem was still not solved. I have Samsung galaxy buds 2 and that works great with my MacBook. All other Bluetooth speakers/headphones work fine with my MacBook. So I thought there might be some hardware issue with my AirPods, so I got them replaced under warranty from the Apple service center. Both the left and right buds were replaced.

But I’m still facing the same issue. I’ve tried connecting other AirPods and AirPods pro with my MacBook and they all produce crackling sound. The issue comes only when listening on AirPods/AirPods pro while all other Bluetooth headphones/speaker works fine. Could this be a software issue or a hardware issue? If anybody else has had the same issue and has a solution please help me out?

Hi RahulSinghal,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're hearing a crackling sound from your AirPods Pro when they're connected to your Mac and still experience the same behavior after having them replaced.

You may consider ruling out wireless interference if you're experiencing this behavior in the same location. You can learn more here: If your AirPods Pro make crackling or static sounds

Follow these steps.
1. Make sure that you have the latest software on your connected iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.
2. Check that your connected device is nearby, and there's no wireless interference or obstructions between you and your device
3. Listen to audio from a different app to see if the app causes the issue.
If you still experience sound quality issues—or if the issues increase in loud environments, with exercise, or while talking on the phone—refer to AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Issues.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
