Studio Display Microphone - Awful quality?

I have found the Studio Display's microphone quality to be absolutely abysmal - worse than any other monitor or laptop I have ever used (Including the LG 5K monitor). I see people complaining about the video quality, which isn't nearly as bad to me as the microphone quality. Am I missing something?
