It sounds like you may have an older iMac 24-inch from 2007, 2008, or 2009. If this is the case, unfortunately, it is possible that you can't use Safari to watch Netflix on your older Mac as it's no longer supported. However, other web browsers fully support OS X El Capitan, the version of OS X you should be using. If you aren't upgraded to OS X El Capitan, upgrade here: How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support.

You can then use Chrome, the last major browser that supports OS X El Capitan, to watch Netflix.

How much "older"? The last 24" iMac previous to the current one was in 2009 which would only run up to OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. I think your best bet is to contact Netflix support.

Just to add, there was also a 24" iMac released in 2006 which can only run OS X Lion 10.7.5.
