Homekit Hubs

do you need more/should you have more than 1 hub, or if you have more than 1 device (multiple Homepods and appleTVs or should I remove all but 1 - if that's even user possible?

Or am I overthinking this?

Homekit works a bit like a local cloud - it's settings are shared amongst whatever devices are on the same network. Any one of them can take over as the Home Hub at any time so it is probably good to have more than one device available (you can see the available devices and the active one in the Home app on an iPad or iPhone).

There is no harm in having multiple devices available as Home Hubs, unless one of them is causing issues (such as intermittent wifi problems).

You can disable the Home Hub via settings on the Apple TV or iPad but not on Homepods, it seems.
