Has anyone discovered a way to use bold or italics fonts in Messages on iPhone?
Apparently, Apple hasn’t enabled bold or italics in Messages, which is so typical of Apple.
To be clear: I know how to use bold & italics in all my apps, with exception to Messages. I don’t think Apple has provided a method to do this? It seems as if every question surrounding Messages has one or two replies, but the issue has never been resolved.
Please Apple, if it’s not supported, fine. However, drawing out threads by requesting “more information” before providing an answer that finally resolves this once and for all is furthering the old meme of “Apple says it’s not supported”, only to later discover it’s suddenly supported by Apple and they’re making it a “feature”!
I was one of those loyal Apple customers who had a third party keyboard case for their iPad and desperately wanted mouse support for iPad? For nearly a decade we were told “Nope, if you need a mouse on your iPad, you’re using it wrong.” We customers were like “What?! THIS is Apple’s answer to mouse support?!” It was pretty….rude of Apple to respond this way.
Then, the new iPad Pro is released with a nice keyboard case with a…..trackpad?! And suddenly, the iPad had mouse support! It looked like the same as an Accessibility feature that had been on iPads for years.
So please Apple, select the correct answer:
- Bold and italic text are not supported in iOS or iPadOS.
- Bold and italic text are supported, here’s a support link that shows how to compose text messages with bold and italic fonts.
Sincere thanks to anyone that answer this enduring issue that affects millions, if not billions of Apple customers.
