Apple Watch sleep focus

The sleep focus does not mirror from iPhone to the watch anymore. I have a bedtime schedule set and usually the phone and watch will update each other depending on where I turned off the sleep focus. Somehow it does not work anymore and at night when the winding down starts on the phone, I see that the watch mirrors with the sleep focus icon on but the display stay lit the whole night. I’ve done all the settings but they still don’t solve the problem.

Hello Seanzzt,

By any chance is the Always On setting on your Apple Watch turned on?

If so, we would suggest turning this off and see if that helps:

How to turn the Always On feature on or off
1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch. To do this, press the Digital Crown to see the Home screen, then tap the Settings button .
2. Tap Display & Brightness.
3. Scroll down, then tap Always On.
4. Tap Always On to turn on or turn off the feature.

Additional information about this feature is available here: Use the Always On feature with your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Have a good day.

Hi Seanzzt,

As it's not clear what settings you have checked, to make sure they are correct, check out the following:

  • Share Across Devices is turned on for your iPhone in Settings > Focus > Share Across Devices, and on your Apple Watch in Settings > Focus.
  • On your iPhone, check your Privacy settings in Settings > Privacy > Focus to ensure the required settings are turned on to share.
  • Check your Sleep Focus Settings on your Apple Watch, and see if they are correct and not effacing the Sleep Focus options on your iPhone. Use Focus on Apple Watch.

If you're settings are correct, toggle your Sleep Focus off on all devices, restart your devices, and turn them back on, and see if that helps.

Best regards.

Hi Vero_F1, in fact it was working before one of the updates. I have checked all that you mentioned. Essentially the sleep focus would turn on based on the bedtime schedule but the watch does not dim. In the morning when I wake and turn off the alarm on the watch, the watch stays dim until I turn off the sleep focus manually.
