How to remove phone number from apple ID

Hello,

is there a way to remove my phone number from apple ID. I don't want my work phone number to be associated with my private account and I cannot enter another phone there, since I don't use private phone...How do I remove company phone number from my account without adding another phone number to the profile?!? Is it even possible? Or shall I just request account deletion and create new one?

I didn't store any data to iCloud yet and I don't have any active subscriptions.

A potential dilemma for the future is when you leave the company.

If I find myself in your situation, I'll buy a prepaid card for the iPhone SE, and linked with your private account.

Check the conditions of a prepaid card in your region, it depends on the country.

Then the previous owner has to remove the iPhone from his account, see this Apple article:

Then you can sign in with your private Apple ID account.

And I will probably create new account with some fake phone number.

No . . . don't, that is not possible because you will get an error message every time you want to arrange things with Apple, such as updating iPhone, downloading app(s).

Hopefully it's clear for you, in short:

Company phone -> company email addres -> company phone number.

Private iPhone -> your private Apple ID -> prepaid card.

But it's all your choices.

So I need to get a phone number I don't need and I don't want, so I'll be able to use devices I paid for ;) Weird policy by apple I must honestly observe here. Can I use any of those fake phone number services? Does anyone knows that?

Thank you for your fast response, but there is no such option under Personal Information or Sign-in and Security menus. I cannot find any button to delete phone number from Account Security, without entering new phone number, before trying to delete old one. I would just like, to remove phone number from an account WITHOUT adding another phone number.

That is Apple's policy, we are also users like you & we have no influence on that.

Is the phone yours or the company you work for?

If it's a company phone, it usually has a company Apple ID associated with it, such as name @ company dot xxx

Everything is owned by company. Phone number, phone device, security policies on it, etc ... but companies phone is not iphone, I just used the phone number to get the SMS code from apple, because I didn't know it will be associated with my account forever and I don't have private number. I do have iphone, but without SIM card and phone number, since I don't need it. I got phone from one of our customers, when I was working on some project that involved ios app. So in order to be able to test things on ios, customer gave me iphone se 2020. But since i don't have my own phone number, i don't use it except as wifi device, aka testing apps on it for our customers. That's it. I guess I'll delete this account. I don't see any other option, how to remove company phone number from my account, without buying prepaid or postpaid mobile plan. And I will probably create new account with some fake phone number.
