Apple update screwed my wifi printer and USB mouse

Do I have to find a fix for Apple's usual creation of new issues with updates or will Apple software ding a lines fix new bugs? Everything was perfect before Monterey 12.3.1 was installed for security bugs. Of course I want all the security fixes, but it seems Apple does not get it right with updates worth a hoot.

Just what do you mean by "screwed up"?

What specific printer?

Have you tried:

Solve printing problems on Mac - Apple Support

What specific mouse?

Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.

What specific Series E prints is it. If it's listed on in Apple's About AirPrint - Apple Support document it won't need any drivers. Just go to the System/Printers & Scanners preference pane and remove the printer from the left hand pane.

Then add it back with the wireless option.

Also have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

it happened immediately after agreeing to an update to Monterey 12.3.1.

The printer is ET-4750. I have been happy with this printer. It seems Apple leaves it up to users to go find out that they have renamed your iMac, and that this printer does not know the new name. I don't have any new cleaning, protecting or VPN apps on the almost new, but old model, 21" desktop. I blame Apple but am pleased that if I was a GEEK it would have been an easy fix. As a 75 year old worn out person, it took some time. All's well that ends well.... I guess.

Epson ET series printer is recognized by computer as connected but it won't print and it points to a "filter" issue. Dunno

Mouse started working on a reboot with wireless. mouse turned off.

These suggestions like reload drivers,, start in safe mode and do this and that..... WHY DOES APPLE keep screwing things up and making a loyal customers with two Macs, one iPhone X, and an Apple router have to do anything? ****** me off. And "NO" I have not tried those things, but updated Epson software to no avail.
