CarPlay Shutting Down With Changing Cell

I have a 2022 Haval H6 with wired CarPlay. I’ve noticed that when I am driving in areas where cellular bands change from 4G to anything lower, CarPlay shuts down. The only way to get it back up and running is to switch my car off and on again. But should my signal drop to 3G, Edge or lose reception completely, CarPlay will shut down again (when reception changes between 5G and 4G, all is ok).

A temporary fix is to keep my phone on Aeroplane mode whilst driving - no shut downs experienced. Fine for listening to music as tracks are downloaded to my phone but not great for navigation. I have to download maps prior to travel and utilise Google maps for navigating.

I’m using an original Apple cable and running iOS 15.4.1 on my iPhone 12 Pro Max.

I’ve also tried all the known “fixes” but they don’t help.

Is this a bug in the iOS?
