my iPhone 6 just went off and will not restart or charge. what do I do?

Which software is not available? iPhone 6 iOS 12.5.5 is the max that you can have.
It would be better if you can please re-post with a screenshot, in order to understand the phenomenon better. Images/pictures speak louder than words.

Connect iPhone to Mac

I connected my iPhone 6 to my mac and got, "Your Mac has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used". I said OK. Then it came back as "Software for this iPhone is not currently available".
