Unable to use MS Outlook after activating MS office.

Help

I am in a strange situation with the activation of MS Outlook on a new Mac.

The email is hosted by MS 365 with a license that does not include MS Office suite.

Downloaded MS office from the App Store and was able to activate MS Word - Excell and Powerpoint. Using the email address that is hosted with MS 365 with our own domain name (joe@mydomain.com). I cannot start using MS Outlook. Also tried to use a gmail account to find out if the problem was specific to this email address. Unfortunately the problem persist.

Strangely enough everything is working perfectly fine on the old MB pro.

Please help

OK I figured it out!

Email accounts are hosted by MS365 Exchange only.

It was not possible or too complicated to change to a license that includes MS Office Suite they bought a MS Office Family package using the same email address that is hosted by MS 365 Exchange.

All I needed to do is to activate the license as a private license and NOT School or Business.

Super confusing but it makes sense if you think about the licensing paths for MS

One for Organizations and One for Private users.

Its when you have the routine of using the Organizational licensing for an 365 account hosted with a private domain name that you get onto the wrong path....

Ohhh MS why make it soooo complicated.

Yep to my knowledge al current 365 subscriptions include Outlook.

Also note it is working on the current MB pro not on the new one.

It might be a licensing limitation about the number of machines. There is no warning about that. Also it should also effect the other MS office apps which are working.

Bit nervous to sign out of outlook on the current MB pro to test if its indeed a licensing limitation and then not being able to log back in again.

BTW the email account is working perfectly fine with the native Mac Mail - Contacts - Calendar apps...
