Nothing wrong with hardware.
The iOS 15.4.1 update caused all our slightly older devices to have similar problems.
No problems at all on brand new iPad Pro, just purchased last week.
But 2 iPhone 11pros and 4 iPads (each a couple of years old) no longer working correctly since iOS 15.4.1 update — all of these devices worked perfectly before the update.
The screen freezes, not able to use iMessage, sometimes phone doesn’t even work.
Apps freeze and revert back to Home Screen. Cannot turn devices off, must do hard reboot when it freezes.
We tried every possible fix recommended, including those suggested in long text chat with Apple support. Went to Apple Store and the “geniuses” did diagnostics on both phones, nothing wrong with phones. I had our wireless carrier AT&T refresh cellular signal to both phones, two different times — did not help. At Apple Store they tried removing and then reinstalling the SIM cards, didn’t help.
Apple Support on-line suggested restore of iOS 15.4.1 software through iTunes, while connected to iMac, to see if we had gotten “corrupted download” of IOS update. (Seemed unlikely since same issues with 6 different devices, all updated separately at different times.) That did not help.
Apple Support escalated our case to phone call with engineering technical support, they could not help.
very very unhappy with Apple. If only they would enable us to go back to previous iOS, we would be fine,
But they have now dis-continued that option. So we are now left with thousands of dollars worth of Apple devices which have been rendered functionally disabled due to their iOS update. All these devices worked just fine prior to recent iOS 15.4.1 update, now no longer have major essential functions working at all.
i never before believed the conspiracy theories that every iOS update was designed to force people to upgrade to new devices, but I am now thinking this is the only explanation.
if not, why have they removed the option for us to go back to an earlier iOS?
our devices all worked just fine with the previous iOS, but Apple was announcing urgent need to upgrade due to massive security concern.
(guess no security concerns now when I can’t use my phone at all)
