Contact’s photo won’t scale/crop

If I choose a photo for a contact, I’m unable to scale and crop it to the part of the photo I want the contact pic to be. Whenever I go to scale the photo, after hitting done it’ll freeze for a few seconds and save the contact photo with the default scaling.

Try taking a screenshot of the photo you want to use in Photos app, crop that, then try to use it for the contact.
