limit of authorized devices

I got a new laptop, not able to "authorize" for iTunes, indicated I had 5 devices. I deauthorized one desktop computer device 7 days ago. Today, still indicating I have 5. I tried to "manage my devices "and only 3 show up anyway. Why can't I get my new laptop authorized? Windows 11. Thanks.

Deauthorizing and reauthorizing a computer I recently purchased a MacBook Pro. I have 2 iPads, my phone, and my two old pc’s authorized to play my music. I tried deauthorizing one of my iPads but I still can’t get my MacBook authorized in iTunes. I get an error saying I have reached my 5 device limit, even though I deauthorized one of them. I’m tempted to deauthorize all of them and then reauthorize them one by one. But, I’m not sure if it will allow me to reauthorize a device after deauthorizing it. Help!

Authorizing a Computer..... I de-authorized two other computers from my iTunes account. I am now trying to authorize the computer I want to add. However, after attempting to do so, I still am getting an error message telling me that I already have the maximum 5 devices associated with my account. But I do NOT.... Help?

See Authorization vs. association - Apple Community. I suspect you removed an association rather than an authorization.
