Prevent iPhone notificatios from sounding in hearing aids

I just got Phonak hearing aids from my doctor and have paired them to my iPhone. Every time the devices pair, the iPhone defaults all sounds from the iPhone to go through the hearing aids. I don't want email notifications, the phone ringer, etc. to be routed to the hearing aids. Obviously I can change it each time the devices pair, but that is a pain. How can I set the default behavior on connection to my Bluetooth hearing aids to be to leave the notifications on the iPhone speaker?

That didn't work. There is no way in the Phonak App or in my HCP's software to set where the iPhone notifications are sent. Any other ideas, or am I forced to not use Bluetooth with my hearing aids? You would think that Apple would have a default somewhere for Bluetooth headsets.

Sorry I took you in the wrong direction. Phonak hearing aids are bluetooth and not MFi,Made For iPhone. Your myPhonak app controls the routing of ring tone and notification routing. Your doctor should be able to change your customized programs to keep changes from happening every time your hearing aids are paired. Post back if this doesn't help.

Since Phonak works with Bluetooth and without MFi you can still place a product feedback request with Apple for improvement in iPhone Bluetooth features in the future. I do not know if Phonak has a way to request product improvement. Here is the link for Apple:

Go to Settings/Accessibility/Hearing Devices and Turn Off Play Ringtone and Turn Off Play System Sounds and they will not be directed to your hearing aids. It should be defaulted. You should not have to pair your aids more than once. Are you having to pair your aids more than once to your iPhone? What model of Phonak do you wear? Also are you running iOS 15.4.1 on your iPhone?

When I go to Settings/Accessibility/Hearing Devices the only option is "Hearing Aid Compatibility", but turning that on or off achieves nothing. And no, I do not have to "Pair" my devices more than once, but like every Bluetooth headset I have ever owned they do turn off while being charged, which means they "Reconnect" every day. Also, I have them paired to two devices, my personal phone and my company phone. Whenever I take a call, the hearing aids disconnect from the unused phone. When I complete the call, they reconnect. Every time they reconnect they default to sending system sounds and ringtones to the hearing aids. My hearing aids are Phonak Paradise. Any other ideas?
