Macbook Pro cannot login to App Store

Why is my Macbook Pro not logging in to App Store? I have already put the Apple ID & Password but still it says that password and Apple ID is incorrect. They will frequently send SMS with codes each time I log in. I need to upgrade my Mac OS but it seems like it stuck & I cannot update anything from the App Store
