Question

email subfolders on iPad Air 2 have disappeared but still on iPhone 8 .

I set up 4 subfolders within saved email. On iPhone I can see all 4 by hitting the down arrow next to ‘saved’ mail but on iPad against the saved mail is just a right pointing arrow >with no further subfolders. I’ve already checked software is up to date (15.4.1), I tried a reboot of iPad, deleted mail account and added it again, and tried putting INBOX in the settings>advanced>IMAP path prefix, but nothing’s made any difference. Any ideas……please

OK. When you open the Mail App on your iPad, there are two sections. The Mailboxes on the top with icons to the left of each mail account. Under VIP you have the Accounts in Bold without an icon. Tap the name of the mail account below and then tap the > to see your subfolders.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. You've done a great job trying to get this resolved. We recommend that you create new subfolders and see if the issue persists on your iPad. This will help determine if the issue is specific to the folders. Also, please login to the webmail for this account and see if the folders appear.

Perhaps a stupid question, but on your iPad did you actually tap the > to reveal the subfolders there? tapping the > should expand any folders you have. Tapping it again should collapse any folders you have.

Hi, if I log on aol webmail I can see my subfolders. I tried to add another new subfolder…. When I click the box to chose mailbox location I can see all my ‘invisible’ subfolders. I tried adding a new folder anyway, I can see it on webmail but not on ipad.

I wish it were that easy. When I click saved > it just shows 2 old saved emails, no subfolders. 🙁

Nope, I was already scrolling down to below VIP, onto the mail that has inbox,drafts,sent, etc at the bottom is ‘saved> with 2 saved messages from 2021! No subfolders.
