CarPlay won’t play audio from my iPhone

As of this morning, my CarPlay won’t play audio from my iPhone, it registers both on the phone and on the CarPlay screen that the song is playing for 6-8 seconds, but no audio and after this amount of time, it switches the audio to a different source (radio for me) - I haven’t noticed any other issues with CarPlay so far (calls and maps still work normally).

I have tried the usual troubleshooting: resetting the car, and iPhone, “forgetting” the device and repairing, and it is the same both via wireless, and connected with a cable. I’m also on the most up to date iOS

Anybody else have a similar experience or have a suggestion to fix?
