Hi Everyone, I recently did an update to macOS Monterey Version 12.3.1 and now my Dell S3422DWG will not recognize the resolution past 1340 x 1900. It should be able to go up to 3440 X 1440 which it did before the update.
Has anyone else ran into this issue? If so how did you resolve it?
Also, I have tried different HDMI cables, as well I connected the monitor to a Windows 10 machine and no problems recognizing the 3440 X 1440 resolution
I just bought a Dell monitor yesterday and having this issue. I set "Smart HDR" on my Dell to "Off" which opened up the 2560 x 1440 option on my Mac but it's still not using the full width of my monitor. Pretty annoying to the point where I'll probably return the monitor.
No I just found out that my Asus VG34V monitor is having the same issue.
I can't believe there are not more people having this issue because the more people I talk to about this, the more I hear they are having this issue.
Try using the the Display Menu app from the App store.
Thank you Illaass, how would that work when the monitor settings are not being found in the settings/display default menu? Is that what it pulls from?
Display Menu offers many resolutions not offered in the Mac's Display Preference.

What Mac do you have and what OS and version are you running?
Have you tried the recent 12.4 update?
It has fixed display resolution problems for a number of people, maybe this is the update you were waiting for...
Just upgraded to 12.4. Same thing is happening.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
Graphics card: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

it would to past 1080p which as we all know the monitor can do so much more.
What do you guys think we should do?
I've seen elsewhere that using Displayport is required to get full resolution. Has anyone here tried that?
I should add that I don't own this monitor but was about to buy one until I saw posts about this problem.
It was working with the HDMI cable prior to the 12.3.1. update
