burning cds

I'm on a macbook pro 2013. I've been trying to burn some of my original recordings to play in my car. I have tried every possible speed and they won't play. My cds go up to 52X but only will burn up to 24X on computer. I used to burn and play my cds with no problem. They won't even play on my cd boombox. Why is that?

Can't burn CDs and I'm SO FRUSTRATED!!! I have been burning cds for years from my 2013 MacBook Pro using iTunes and and exterior disk drive. The "Verbatim" blank discs have worked perfectly. Recently, both my old and newer Macs tell me the VERY SAME discs are for "data;" they wouldn't play in a boom box or on either Mac. (Per Amazon, others have had the same experience.) I purchased a different brand (Memorex) and, even though they said they were "burning," they won't play, either! My newer (2017) Mac uses an external drive for my iTunes library (not enough space), and I tried burning the playlist from it, but no luck. I also tried purchasing and using the "Toast" app, but it won't work on older operating systems and the most recent doesn't have iTunes... (I'm choosing the "audio" setting, rather than MP3 or data.) An elderly friend has only a CD player and I was looking forward to giving her music, but I've been thwarted repeatedly... :( Can ANYone help me? I would appreciate it more than I can say!

Superdrive Ripping Issues Last week I bought an Apple Superdrive to work with my new MacBook Pro 14" with macOS Monterey 12.6, to digitalize my CD collection. I am happy with the Superdrive as it is sturdy, working intuitive and places everything well organized in my Music library. Up to now there is only one CD box including 4 CDs that the Superdrive is not able to digitalize properly. Superdrive gets the last 2 or 3 tracks of these 4 CDs only half ripped or not ripped at all. I really would like to know what the problem is. It seems the Superdrive has difficulties with the formatting of these CDs and I wonder why this is the case. The discs are produced by the Warner Music Group company, brand new, and all of average music length. Can anyone be of help in this matter?

You need to have the tracks in the Music app library and burn music CDs from there as follows:

1 - put the selected tracks in a playlist.

2 - select the playlist and use the File ➙ Burn Playlist to CD.

3 - in the next window set the burn speed (the slower speeds produce better burns) and select Audio CD:
