Cannot make or receive calls or texts, "no service" and message saying "an update is rerquired to use cellular data on this phone." I have used the same phone and provider in the same place for years with no problem. Multiple tries of turning the phone on and off, " Reset", "Reset Network", a visit to the local-ish Apple store, and 3 calls to my cell service provider have failed to fix this. Any help will be much appreciated.

You need to do a manual cellular update. See if this helps: If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Thanks, but I have already done all of these, more than once. In my fourth call ( on a borrowed phone), I requested a new SIM card from my cell provider. We will see if that works.
