my friend has a new iPhone 12. When I’m speaking to her in a phone call and she has her speaker on her voice cuts out completely when I am speaking. Is there a way to correct this? It makes it very difficult to have a conversation while this is occurring.

It sounds like you're running into an issue when on phone calls with a specific Contact. If this is happening only when she's using her phone speaker, there may be an issue with her iPhone.

-If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working (Check microphone function on your iPhone and theirs, if possible)
-If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker (This will help isolate issues related to the speaker and receiver)

Thanks. But the microphone is working and not distorted. It seems like there is a function that mutes the sound coming back to me while I'm speaking and for about a second after, so I often don't hear the other party's response. I've checked the noise cancellation on both phones and that's not the problem. Any other ideas?
